FVPD Job Fair

Ever wondered how much fun it would be spending a whole summer at Blackberry Farm or Red Oak Nature Center? Or perhaps soaking up more sun at two outdoor aquatics facilities? How about coaching a variety of youth sports or leading summer camp activities? Stop by our Job Fair, where staff will be on hand to answer questions and help match interests with open seasonal positions. Get a $20 gift card for lunch when you pre-register!

Wine & Canvas – Peacock Feather

Escape to childhood art class and let your imagination go as an instructor guides you through your own canvas creation. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine, snacks, a few friends and enjoy a lively, social and creative night out at charming Blackberry Farm. This month’s painting will be a colorful peacock feather. Paintings are posted monthly on Blackberry Farm’s Facebook page.

Nerf Attack at VAC

Stake your territory in our Nerf Battleground, which is filled with cushy obstacles and barriers for a fun, safe activity that involves strategy and physical fitness – a great way for kiddos to burn some pent-up winter energy. We’ll supply the Nerf guns, foam darts and eye protection for all participants. (Note: Organized games and target shooting will take place.)

When: Friday, March 17, from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Maple Fest at Red Oak Nature Center

There’s a sticky situation at Red Oak Nature Center, so make plans to join our annual tradition of turning Maple sap into Maple Syrup! After a short indoor presentation, head out onto the trails to learn some history behind how this delicious product went from tree to table throughout the years. And – oh, yes! – you’ll get delicious samples! Everyone 3+ years must have a ticket for entry to their timed presentation.

Community CPR & First Aid

Learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first-aid emergencies, including how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help individuals of any age. Successful students will receive a course completion card in First Aid and CPR which is valid for two years from the date of issue. Classes are held at Vaughan Athletic Center and taught by Jeff Ellis & Associates Safety and Health certified instructors.
