Love for life and experience knows no age. If you’re 55 or older, you can connect with those who share your passion for an active lifestyle. Our Active Adults program at Prisco Community Center offers diverse, engaging senior events and programs such as:
- Weekly get-togethers
- Thematic meetings and clubs
- Health and wellness seminars
- SilverSneakers fitness
- Driver-safety programs
- Luxury bus trips
- Card, Bingo and Bunco parties

Each season features different, original activities for seniors. Our luxury bus trips might bring you to a Broadway show in Chicago; the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; tribute shows at Starved Rock Lodge (Oglesby, Illinois); or casino trips throughout the region. You’ll also have chances to join coach bus trips around the country to discover new places and sights.
If your active senior lifestyle includes exercise, you’ll appreciate the award-winning SilverSneakers program. Members with an eligible health plan can use our fitness center at little to no cost. Simply check with your insurance provider to see if you qualify.

Well beyond being a hot spot for inspiring senior programs and activities, Prisco Community Center is the home of the Friendly Center Club, an interactive group that meets on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to Noon.
Each week, social seniors gather to talk, enjoy snacks, and play games. The club also hosts a monthly luncheon and features special entertainment such as singers and dancers.
Friendly Center Club outings and activities have included a lakefront cruise, seeing the famous musical Miss Saigon, a tour of downtown Chicago and its holiday lights, a sock hop, birthday and holiday parties, and Bunco Dice Game Days, to name just a few.
The club was founded in 1951 by John A. Lippold, who saw the need and opportunity for a way for like-minded senior adults to be connected and active. We hope that you’ll join us!
