Due to the Tier 3 Mitigations, Table Tennis will no longer be offered.
The Fox Valley Park District can safely set up 10 tables, which accommodates 20 players, in the north gym at the Eola Community Center. We will be limiting the number of participants by utilizing a ticketing system to only 20 participants per night. Those tickets can be bought for the program date a participant wishes to come to through the month of August right now. Tables will be the appropriate distance of 6 feet apart from each other. We will also continue to set up physical barriers as another visual reminder to socially distance. The tables themselves are over 6 feet long which also allows for social distancing between players. Players will be asked to play against the same player for the entirety of the program that day.
Hours
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Check In:
Players will enter through the north gym doors that are in the main hallway. Players will then exit through the other set of doors that lead out towards the locker rooms and the bathrooms. The doors will be appropriately marked entrance and exit. Players should not arrive any more than 10 minutes to the scheduled start time. Players will have to answer the park district COVID-19 screening questions upon arrival.
Pre-Screening Questions will be on a signacade at check-in
- Have you or another person in your household had a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher in the last 14 days?
- Have you or anyone in your household been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
- Have you had any unexplained cough or sore throat?
- Have you had any body aches or fatigue that can’t be explained?
- Have you had a persistent headache in the last 48 hours?
- You must be free of all these specified symptoms for at least 72 hours before entering for play.
Players will need to present their receipt of purchase with the open gym attendant as soon as they arrive in the gym. The open gym attendant will then mark the receipt as used and mark their name off the roster. Players will then be asked to use hand sanitizer prior to play start and at completion of the event.
Cleanliness:
Players will be required to bring their own paddle and at least 1 ball to each program. Gym attendants will wipe down the tables with an alcohol base solution at the beginning of the program and after the conclusion of the program. Masks should be worn from the participants car to their table and when going to the restroom during play if social distancing is not possible. Masks should also be worn at the completion of play when walking back to the participants car. Bleachers will be removed, and no spectators will be allowed in, only participating players. The open gym attendant will have cleaning supplies available and will be expected to assist in cleaning when a participant requests it. Additional precautions, similar to tennis, that will be asked of participants will be:
- Encourage players to use their paddle/foot to push balls back and/or hit them to their opponent to avoid using hands and touching the balls
- Match opponents should be pre-set before the match day to prevent gatherings of players awaiting table assignment. Tables will be clearly numbered.
- Personal paddle and minimally 1 ball are required to participate
- Bring hand sanitizer with you, use throughout your match and at the end
- Players should stay on their side of the table and avoid changing sides during match play
- Singles play only
