Here’s to more flowers than showers in April! Celebrate spring’s bloom and choose from a variety of events and activities hosted by the Fox Valley Park District.

Floating Egg Hunt

Easter Bunny alert! Looks like he’ll be making an early stop at Vaughan Athletic Center, where kiddos can hop into the Leisure Pool and hunt for eggs, aqua-style! Each egg will have a number to match a take-home prize. Participants will also enjoy an Easter egg-themed craft in the Party Room. Those entering the pool must have a ticket; children under 2 are free.

When: Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Community-Wide Service Day

Calling all church groups, scouts, friends, students, and families! Soak up the community spirit and say hello to spring by lending a hand to spruce-up local parks and river shoreline. The annual event is run in cooperation with Kiwanis Club of Aurora. For more info or to reserve your volunteer spot, contact communitycleanup@foxmetro.org.

Spring Craft Fling 

Let your creativity flow by making your own spring wreath from scratch at the Vaughan Athletic Center. We’ll provide all the supplies, teach you how to make fancy bows and be of any (or no!) assistance with the artificial flowers and greenery, and ribbons and fabric of your choice.

Dudes & Darlings Spring Blast

Celebrate Eola Community Center’s official kickoff to spring with some friendly competition between teams of moms and sons, and dads and daughters! Pair up with your child to work through timed challenges – both mental and (not too) physical – to see who emerges as the champion duo. Parent-child tandems will also partake in fun games and crafts with light refreshments provided.

Community CPR & First Aid

Learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first-aid emergencies, including how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help individuals of any age. Successful students will receive a course completion card in First Aid and CPR which is valid for two years from the date of issue. Classes are held at Vaughan Athletic Center and taught by Jeff Ellis & Associates Safety and Health certified instructors.
