Founded in 2018-2019, the Fox Valley Flash provides an affordable and high-quality track & field program in which all district residents – ages 5 to 18, of all skill levels and experience – can participate. The Flash is comprised of the Elite (competitive) and Junior Elite (non-competitive) levels. Both teams participate in indoor and outdoor seasons; the indoor season runs 16 weeks, and outdoor 12.
The Fox Valley Park District’s previously-established Wolf Pack Running Club, which specialized in middle-to-long distance running, rolled into the Flash program and participants are now part of a more well-rounded effort to give young athletes the full track & field experience.
Elite – The Elite team has three two-hour practices weekly. Registration fee ($249) includes uniform, individual AAU membership and end-of-season award. Elite participates in at least three meets, including one at the Vaughan Athletic Center.
Junior Elite – The Junior Elite team will have two 90-minute practices weekly. Registration fee ($149) includes end-of-season award.
(Junior Elite team members have the option of paying the extra $100 and moving up to the Elite team at the end of November if the coaching staff deems they’re ready.)
- Indoor: Runs from November-February
- Outdoor: Runs from late April-July.
Former coach of the Illinois Lightning Track Club, Lesroy Tittle heads up the Flash program. Motivated and passionate, Coach Tittle’s primary areas of expertise include speed and conditioning. Coach Tittle added Barry Puckett to the staff; Coach Puckett was a big part of the Lightning’s success and his leadership will be instrumental for the Flash.
