Autumn is Awesome!

Wine & Canvas at the Farm

Pinot Noir meets the palette for a lively evening of painting, sipping and socializing. No artistic experience is necessary; an instructor guides you through and soon your custom canvas creation comes to life. You might even amaze yourself! Bring your favorite beverages and friends this interactive evening of creative fun. Fee includes instructor and all art materials.

A Walk Through Sleepy Hollow

Immerse yourself in the world of Ichabod Crane’s story of the haunted town, Sleepy Hollow. Walk from scene to scene with a colonial guide through Blackberry Farm while a cast of characters surrounds you, telling the legendary tale. Will you see the Headless Horseman?

Oktoberfest

The annual Oktoberfest features a German meal of sauerbraten, German potato salad, carrots, red cabbage, rye bread and pumpkin rolls for dessert. There will be great German music for entertainment, and mums will be given away at the end of the event. Deadline to register is Oct.1. There is no reserved seating.

When: Thursday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pumpkin Weekends

Pumpkin Weekends bring the spectacular fall season to life with autumn festivities amid the dazzling fall colors each weekend in October (plus Columbus Day) – 9 days in all. Carousel rides, hay wagon rides, pony rides, paddle boats, Little Farmer’s Junction (6Y & under) and tours on the “Pumpkin Train” are part of each weekend’s festivities, along with historic museums and interactive farm animal areas. The Giant Corn Crib and Adventure Playground (with zip line) featured as well. Enjoy seasonal craft-making, harvest decor and pumpkin stories galore! Special events and guests every weekend! It’s all the best of autumn in one place!

Pumpkin Palooza

Great times await at this family-friendly, fall-themed festival! Dress up in your favorite costumes and bring the whole group. Take part in a variety of games, crafts, activities, snacks, and a bounce house! Ten activity tokens are included with registration, with option to purchase more at the door. Register by Oct. 13 to take advantage of early bird pricing.

When: Saturday, Oct. 20, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Ghosts in the Graveyard

Tweens! Grab your flashlights and get ready for a ghastly Friday night party at Blackberry Farm. You’ll have the place to yourselves while enjoying unlimited hay wagon and carousel rides. Dinner is included, too. As the night gets darker and darker, we’ll enjoy a bonfire with s’mores and spooky stories and end the evening with a flashlight skeleton hunt around the Farm! Pre-registration required.

Halloween Fright n’ Delight

Explore the woods on a dark night at Red Oak! Sit by the campfire and listen to tales told by one our old residents, “The Doctor”. Hike through the woods on a self-guided, half-mile round trip walk down to our renowned cave where you might meet some legendary creatures- perhaps Bigfoot himself! Most activities are self-guided and outside. Register by Oct. 19 to take advantage of early bird pricing.

Haunted Walking Tour

Aurora, Illinois… a city of rich history, culture, and haunted spots! Come with us on a spook-tacular tour of downtown Aurora, and hear about its haunted past! Participants will begin the evening with drinks at Leland Legends, will make haunted stops on a walking tour of downtown Aurora, and finish the evening at Ballydoyle’s Irish Pub. You decide, is Aurora truly the “City of Lights,” or the “City of Frights”? Participants must be 21 years or older to attend the tour, fee includes two beverage tickets

Tricks for Treats

Come if you dare for some spooky fun at our indoor preschool gymnastics Halloween Celebration. Age appropriate activities include tricks for treats, ghoulish games and a spooky obstacle course

Veterans Day Luncheon

This annual beloved Veterans Day celebration begins with a presentation of colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ A catered turkey dinner sponsored by Upper Crust will be served. Maureen Christine will perform and there will be prize drawings. Pre-registration by Oct. 29 is required.
