Mom & Son Hayride

Moms and sons can enjoy a night out together! The tractor and hay wagon will be making the rounds throughout the evening touring scenic Blackberry Farm. A pizza dinner and a drink will be provided. Live DJ spinning your favorite tunes. Later, we’ll gather around the campfire for s’mores. Advance ticket purchase is required. Buy online here.

Wine & Canvas at the Farm

Pinot Noir meets the palette for a lively evening of painting, sipping and socializing. No artistic experience is necessary; an instructor guides you through and soon your custom canvas creation comes to life. You might even amaze yourself! Bring your favorite beverages and friends to this interactive evening of creative fun. Fee includes instructor and all art materials.

A Walk Through Sleepy Hollow

Immerse yourself in the world of Ichabod Crane’s story of the haunted town, Sleepy Hollow. Walk from scene to scene with a colonial guide through Blackberry Farm while a cast of characters surrounds them with the legendary story of Sleepy Hollow. Will you see the Headless Horseman? Groups of 16 will depart from the gift shop on the half hour. Order tickets online at www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org.

Pumpkin Weekends

Pumpkin Weekends bring the beautiful fall season to life with autumn festivities amid the spectacular fall colors. Enjoy seasonal craft-making, harvest decor and pumpkin stories galore! Kids can roll around in the giant corn crib and enjoy unlimited rides on the train, ponies, hay wagon and carousel. Enjoy trick-or-treating and a costume contest – special events every weekend, and Columbus Day (Oct. 9). It’s all the best of autumn in one place!

When: Weekends in October (Sept. 30-Oct. 1, Oct. 7-8, Oct. 14-15, Oct. 21-22, Oct. 28-29) and Columbus Day (Oct. 9), 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Oktoberfest

The annual Oktoberfest features a German meal of sauerbraten, German potato salad, carrots, red cabbage, rye bread and pumpkin rolls for dessert. There will be great German music for entertainment, and a mums raffle will be held as well. Deadline to register is Oct. 2. There is no reserved seating. Sponsored by Asbury Gardens DMJ.

Portraits in the Park

Using the picturesque grounds of Blackberry Farm as a backdrop, a professional photographer will capture frame-worthy portraits. Each 30-minute photo session includes a CD of the best 10-15 edited images and full printing rights.

Family Hoedown

We’ll be gettin’ down on the Farm on a Saturday night! Giddy up and get on over to the historic pioneer village for an all-ages, high-energy evening of fun as we play your favorite country hits – featuring a live DJ, line dancing and games. Fall Culinary Expo

Chefs from local senior facilities, caterers and gourmet shops will be on hand to offer food samples and present cooking demonstrations. Attendees also will have the opportunity to purchase prepared food and dishes from some of the chefs. Bingo from 1 to p.m. The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required so organizers can have an accurate count for food vendors.

Haunted Touch-a-Truck & Pumpkin Patch

Get behind the wheel of some of the spookiest vehicles around! Kids are invited to wear their costumes and sit behind big rigs decorated for Halloween. Afterwards, grab a pumpkin to take home. Pre-registration is required.

Escape Prisco!

Think you’re good at solving puzzles and answering riddles? Sign up with friends and family and try to break out of our Escape Room, Backstage Bound. Participants will receive riddles, puzzles and tasks to complete as a team in order to “beat the room.” All teams receive a 30-minute round. Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to their booked time slot. Groups of up to 8 participants are welcome – larger groups can be accommodated upon request. Extra clues available for younger escapists.

Ghosts in the Graveyard

Tweens! Grab your flashlights and get ready for a ghastly Friday night party at Blackberry Farm. You’ll have the place to yourselves while enjoying unlimited hay wagon and carousel rides. Dinner is included, too. As the night gets darker and darker, we’ll enjoy a bonfire with s’mores and spooky stories and end the evening with a flashlight skeleton hunt around the Farm! Pumpkin Palooza

Great times await at this family-friendly, fall-themed festival! Dress up in your favorite costumes and bring the whole group. Take part in a variety of games, crafts, activities, snacks, and a bounce house! Ten activity tokens are included with registration, with option to purchase more at the door. Halloween Family Scarecrow ‘Stuff’

Veterans Day Luncheon

This annual Veterans Day celebration begins with a presentation of colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ A catered turkey dinner sponsored by Upper Crust will be served. Herschel Luckinbill will share information on the Honor Flight Chicago and Vets Roll program and the many benefits it provides to veterans. Vocalist Maureen Chrstince performs at 1 p.m. Prize drawings, too. Pre-registration – including veterans – is required by Nov. 1.
