Scout Badge Program
Blackberry Farm can help your Scout troop earn badges! We will provide the materials and staff time to assist the troop with the badge projects listed below. Leaders must provide the badge patch. For more information, e-mail Laureen Baumgartner or contact Laureen at 630-892-1550.
Brownies are invited to visit the Potter’s studio and learn about clay, make a pinch pot, decorate a tile and glaze a piece of pottery. Particpiants will complete all the steps to earn their Potter’s Badge. Fired pottery will be available for pickup a week after the class. Leaders supply the patch.
Brownies complete fun activities that help them learn about their five senses. Scouts will explore their sense of sight, test their hearing, smell different foods, taste various flavors, and feel assorted textures. Brownies will complete the steps to earn their senses badge. Leaders supply the patch.
Achievement 1G: Go to a library, museum, old farm or historical building. Discover how family life was the same and how it was different many years ago.
Scouts will learn about fishing laws in our area, safety while fishing, the parts of a fishing pole, casting, and putting bait on the hook. Scouts will spend the remaining time fishing.
