This CARA-certified run/walk is a great way to kick off the running season on the right foot. Set amid the natural beauty of Blackberry Farm, the course combines the paved trails of the Virgil Gilman Trail and loops around picturesque Lake Gregory. Chip timing by It’s Race Time, Inc. This race is for ages 10 and up.

Day-of Registration

Day-of registration is available on March 29 beginning at 7:15 a.m. Download a printable entry form and have it filled out when you arrive. Pay by cash or check only. Day-of registrants are not guaranteed a T-shirt. Day-of registration fees: $30 for CARA members $34 for non-CARA racers

Pre-race Packet Pick Up

For those who pre-register, race packet pickup is available on Thursday (March 27) and Friday (March 28) from 3 to 7 p.m. at Blackberry Farm. You may also pick up your packet on race day.

Results & Awards

Awards will be given to the first-, second- and third-place male and female in each age group (listed below) and overall male and female. 14 & under • 25 to 29 • 40 to 44 • 55 to 59 • 70 to 74 • 15 to 19 • 30 to 34 • 45 to 49 • 60 to 64 • 75 & up • 20 to 24 • 35 to 39 • 50 to 54 • 65 to 69

T-shirts

All pre-registered runners will receive an official 5K Spring Gallop T-shirt.

Parking

Parking is available across the street at Splash Country Water Park, 195 S. Barnes Road, Aurora, IL 60506.

Course

USATF Certified (IL-10130-JW) The course alternates between asphalt and limestone screenings, circling Lake Gregory and traversing Blackberry Farm while including portions of the Virgil Gilman Trail. Mile splits will be called at each mile. There will be refreshments at the finish line.
