Located in the scenic Fox River Valley - about 40 miles west of Chicago - the Fox Valley Park District is a premier park and recreation organization serving an expanding and diverse customer base in one of the fastest growing regions in the Midwest. The Fox Valley Park District is one of the largest park district in Illinois. The district serves a population of more than 230,000 people, the majority of whom live in the city of Aurora, the second-largest city in Illinois. The district also serves the villages of Montgomery and North Aurora and several unincorporated areas. Its facilities are located in Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will counties. In 2010, Fox Valley Park District welcomed more than 1.6 million guests to facilities through a wide variety of recreation programs. To aid in offering services to the disabled, the district is a member of the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA), which serves six park districts. The association’s offices are housed at the District’s Vaughan Athletic Center. Park District achieves Distinguished Agency status
The Fox Valley Park District has been recognized as an Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association Distinguished Agency, the highest award an agency can receive from either association. Read more.
